 2. Dirty Dancing (1987).


This movie is magic, something more than the ordinary romantic movie. Everyone who has seen Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze dance into our hearts in this movie will remember it forever…
Romantic Plot: A good girl from a well-to-do family falls in love with an older bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Baby (Grey) and Johnny (Swayze) reinvent the genre during one summer vacation at a posh, family friendly camp, although viewers are left wondering if they reached their happily-ever-after following their iconic dance. They do succeed in proving that love is more important than money, prestige, or reputations.

3. Titanic (1997)


There’s something magic, fascinating and unforgettable about this love story. No wonder it’s one of the most romantic movies of all time. Leonardo diCaprio is the poor Jack, and Kate Winslet is the rich but unhappy Rose.
Romantic Plot:Rich Rose and poor Jack manage to meet on the ill-fated ship, where Rose is contemplating a jump off the ship, partly due to her engagement to the incorrigible Cal. In spite of coming from two entirely different worlds, the two strike an immediate, passionate connection that survives even the worst possible tragedy.

4. Notting Hill (1999) 


An easy-going romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. She is a famous star and he’s just an ordinary man, but the feelings between them are the same anyway.
Plot: Will (Grant) is a humble bookstore owner, while Anna (Roberts) is a Hollywood star with all the glitz and glamor the occupation implies. Their chance meeting sparks an instant attraction, but a secret relationship and the fame attached to Anna’s bright star conspire to keep the two of them apart through a succession of ludicrous and heartbreaking situations.

5. Gone with the wind (1939) 


This is by far the most classic romantic movie of all time. Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh will always be remembered for their amazing characters in this movie.
Plot: On the cusp of the Civil War, Scarlett O’Hara (Leigh) conspires to get Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard) to marry her instead of his cousin Melanie (Olivia de Havilland), leading to an infuriating meeting with Rhett Butler (Gable), a persona non grata with an atrocious reputation. Throughout the war and its aftermath, through hasty marriages, deaths, tragedies, and triumphs, he and Scarlett are drawn together again and again, although her love for Ashley abides. Only too late does she realize rapscallion Rhett had her heart all along.

6. Grease (1978)


One of the most famous romantic movies ever without a doubt. This is a romantic film with plenty of music, plenty of dance and lots of feelings.
Plot: Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy’s (Olivia Newton-John) love story begins with the classic premise of good girl meets bad boy, but from there it parts ways with any kind of archetype. Newly transplanted from Oz, goody two shoes Sandy comes to Rydell High, only to discover that her sweet summer love is actually the bad boy leader of the T-Birds. Jibes from the other Birds and the Pink Ladies keep the two apart until Sandy decides to take a walk on the wild side — perfectly in key!

7. Pretty Woman (1990)


Pretty Woman is an iconic twist on the Cinderella story. I am sure you all have seen Pretty Woman at lease once in your life. But even so, you might want to see it again!
Plot: Edward (Richard Gere) and Vivian (Julia Roberts) come from two entirely different places: he’s a high echelon business man, she’s a prostitute with a heart of gold working hard for every dollar. While getting directions through Hollywood, Edward — notoriously bad with relationships — makes the decision to purchase Vivian’s services for an entire week, although their intimate moments have far less to do with money than they do with passion. However, when Edward’s friend and partner discovers Vivian’s occupation, his behavior and reaction cause a rift between the two — but ultimately, love conquers over money.

Hopeful and sweet.

8. Ghost (1990)


This is a story about love that transcends even death. A classic for many reasons including the iconic pottery scene, this touching tale is the perfect date movie and a must see for any romantic movie lover!
Romantic Plot: Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are happy and very much in love. Walking back to their new apartment after a night out at the theatre, they encounter a thief in a dark alley, and Sam is murdered. He finds himself trapped as a ghost and realises that his death was no accident. He must warn Molly about the danger that she is in. But as a ghost he can not be seen or heard by the living, and so he tries to communicate with Molly through Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg), a psychic who didn’t even realise that her powers were real until then.
Main Cast: Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg and Tony Goldwyn.

9. Legends of the fall (1995)

Legends of the Fall is one of the saddest, most touching but wonderful war-time movies ever. It offers love, war, daily life and anger within a family.
Plot: The love of a woman, Susannah (Julia Ormond), and their father, William (Anthony Hopkins), creates tension, strife, and love within the lives of the three Ludlow brothers — Alfred (Aidan Quinn), Tristan (Brad Pitt), and Samuel (Henry Thomas). Samuel dies in WWI, in Tristan’s arms. This fact and an affair with Samuel’s former fiance, Susannah, leaves Tristan guilty and heartbroken, given to fits of temper and bad decisions. Alfred ultimately marries Susannah, creating tension with his father, who suffers a stroke and an ongoing depression that does not end until Tristan returns from self-imposed exile. While the family eventually knits itself together, it still suffers from tragedies and death.

10. How to lose a guy in 10 days (2003)



Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are both excellent in this entertaining, amusing and funny romantic comedy.
Romantic Plot: Andie (Hudson) is a journalist who comes up with an idea for an article about how she can completely turn off a guy in just 10 days. Benjamin (McConaughey) is an ad executive who brags that it will only take him 10 days to make a woman fall head over heels in love with them. Naturally, they meet one another, and the mishaps involved in their tug of war relationship ultimately come out right.
Main Cast: Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey, Adam Goldberg, and Kathryn Hahn.
Romantic Mood: Hilarious!
